ALVIN B. CULABA, Ph.D.
President
Dr. Alvin B. Culaba is a Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Director of the Center for Engineering and Sustainable Development Research (CESDR) at De La Salle University. Recognized as the Philippines' foremost energy scientist, he is a multi-awarded professional and academic leader. His extensive leadership roles include serving as past President of the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP) and the Philippine-American Academy of Science and Engineering (PAASE), and as Founding Vice President and Life Member of the Philippine Society of Mechanical Engineers Academe Chapter. Currently, he is the Vice President of the National Academy of Science and Technology Philippines (NAST PH). Dr. Culaba holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Portsmouth, England, United Kingdom, earned as a DOST-World Bank Scholar and UNESCO Fellow on Advanced Energy Systems at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) in Trieste, Italy.
