Dr. Ricardo P. Pama, Ph.D.

Dr. Ricardo P. Pama is a distinguished Filipino civil and structural engineer, educator, university leader, and international academic administrator whose career has helped advance engineering education in the Philippines and across Asia. He earned his Civil Engineering degree from Mapúa Institute of Technology, his Master’s degree in Structural Engineering from the Asian Institute of Technology in Thailand, and his Ph.D. in Structural Engineering from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland. Dr. Pama served for 26 years at the Asian Institute of Technology, where he became Professor of Structural Engineering, Vice President for Development, and Vice President for Academic Affairs. He later returned to the Philippines and served for 15 years as President of Angeles University Foundation and the University of the Cordilleras. A prolific scholar and respected academic leader, he has authored three textbooks and published more than 100 technical papers in refereed international journals. He also served as Secretary General of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific and Chairman of the CHED Technical Panel for Engineering and Technology.


As Adviser of Sci&Tech Philippines, Dr. Pama brings wisdom, institutional experience, and international perspective to the movement’s mission of advancing science, engineering, innovation, and education for national development. His lifelong service reflects the power of engineering leadership in building institutions and shaping future generations.
