The Sci&Tech Philippines Awards

The Sci&Tech Philippines Awards is the flagship recognition program of the organization, celebrating outstanding achievements of young Filipinos and educators in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.

The awards aim to inspire excellence among senior high school students, educators, and young innovators who demonstrate exceptional talent, creativity, leadership, and commitment to advancing science and technology.

​

The program highlights individuals who have shown the potential to become future leaders in research, innovation, entrepreneurship, and national development.

The Outstanding Sci&Tech Students (TOSS)

Recognizing exceptional senior high school students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, innovation in STEM, and entrepreneurship.

Science and Technology Awards for Research Excellence (STARE)

Recognizing exceptional senior high school students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, innovation in STEM, and entrepreneurship.

Key Award Categories

National Sci&Tech Honor Society 

Recognizing exceptional senior high school students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, innovation in STEM, and entrepreneurship.

National Sci&Tech Honor Society

Eligibility Requirements

Who may be nominated?

A nominee must be:​

  • a graduate of a recognized Senior High School, or an equivalent graduate learner in an Alternative Learning System (ALS) institution in the Philippines for high school for School Year 2025-2026;

  • satisfies the Qualification Pathways;

  • a Filipino citizen;

  • of good moral character;

  • with no record of disciplinary action or academic dishonesty; and

  • officially endorsed by the School Principal, School Director, or equivalent head of institution.

A nominee CAN be nominated for both the NSHS and TOSS Awards.

Qualification Pathways:

​A. Regular Academic Excellence Pathway

  • a Final General Weighted Average (GWA) of 95% or higher, or its equivalent under the school’s grading system; and

  • no final grade below 90% or equivalent in any STEM-related subject.

B. Alternative International STEM Achievement Pathway

  • a top award or distinction in a recognized international STEM competition, subject to official school endorsement and Sci&Tech validation.

The Outstanding Sci&Tech Students (TOSS)

Eligibility Requirements

Who may be nominated?

A nominee must be:​

  • a graduate of a recognized Senior High School, or an equivalent graduate learner in an Alternative Learning System (ALS) institution in the Philippines for high school for School Year 2025-2026;

  • satisfies the TOSS Award Criteria;

  • a Filipino citizen;

  • of good moral character;

  • with no record of disciplinary action or academic dishonesty; and

  • officially endorsed by the School Principal, School Director, or equivalent head of institution.

A nominee CAN be nominated for both the TOSS and NSHS Awards.

TOSS Award Criteria:

​A. Academic Distinction

  • a Final General Weighted Average (GWA) of 85% or higher, or its equivalent under the school’s grading system; and

  • no final grade below 80% or equivalent in any subject.

B. Outstanding Leadership

  • Leadership roles in student organizations.

C. Excellence in Research and Innovation

  • CAPSTONE Project or Research.

D. Notable Community Engagement

  • Involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Science and Technology Award for Research Excellence (STARE)

Eligibility Requirements

Who may be nominated?

A nominee must be:​

  • a Senior High School teacher of a STEM course at a Recognized Senior High School or an Alternative Learning System (ALS) institution in the Philippines for School Year 2025-2026;

  • satisfies the STARE Award Criteria;

  • a Filipino citizen;

  • of good moral character;

  • with no record of disciplinary action or academic dishonesty; and

  • officially endorsed by the School Principal, School Director, or equivalent head of institution.

STARE Award Criteria:

​A. Academic Distinction

  • Educational qualifications and recognition.

B. Outstanding Teaching

  • Innovative teaching methods.

C. Excellence in Research and Mentoring

  • Conduct of Research.

  • Mentoring of Students.

D. Notable Community Engagement

  • Involvement in STEM-related community activities.
